Puma Goes Green!…lime green, not enviro green

Puma Midnight Runners Club

This large lime-green bus passes by our office (Boylston St, Boston) at least 10 times a day.

Question: What’s its purpose?
Answer: To advertise the new Midnight Runners Club. (Uh, what’s that?)

Puma also bought advertising space around our office location on Newbury St and at the Back Bay Train Station. Why didn’t they just use their store front window located blocks from each of these advertising locations?

Really? They couldn’t come up with a more creative, and not to mention environmentally friendly, advertising strategy then driving a large coach bus around the city for weeks? Looks like someone doesn’t know about the Street Attack Bio Bus Fleet!

I dug a little deeper and “friended” Puma on facebook. Here they are running the employee campaign. Puma asked an employee from key retail cities to profile themselves and highlight some of their favorite city hot-spots. Adam F, from Boston, is the actual model plastered on the gas guzzling bright lime- green bus.

Despite their marketing fail with the bus, I must give them (or their facebook developer) a double thumbs up for their creative fan page.  Complete with a kick-ass design and already tons of consumer comments and photos you have to acknowledge that their digital strategy is reaching their consumer.
