This past week, we had the joy of taking white bus out for a fine evening of Light Projections. In conjunction with the Boston Phoenix, we projected a full motion video of the spectacular Blue Man Group right outside of the Bleacher Bar on Landsdowne St.

The projection definitely caught a lot of people’s attention, and the event inside was a blast as well.

It’s been a while since we’ve had some initiative updates. As many of you know, here at Street Attack we like to reserve some of our personal time to invest in “side-projects.” One such project came to fruition last fall when Luke Garro, one of the head honchos, purchased a bus.
“What’s so special about a bus?”… Sit tight and I’ll get to it!
Luke put some extra time, sweat and man power into this bus and we ended up with a veggie powered vehicle complete with limo style interior lounge and light projector. Did we mention he added a hydraulic lift through the emergency hatch with 360 degree rotation? Yeah, this Luke fellow doesn’t mess around.
Dubbed “White Bus”, we’ve seen many brands/organization use this bus as a lounge, brand extension, and buzz worthy “green’ educational tool. So it’s only fair, that after a long year of work that we give it an over haul! Check out the new exterior make-over of White Bus and in true Street Attack fashion the team made sure it got the DIY hands on care that it deserved. Yeah, our head honchos like to get their hands dirty ever once in a while.

It’s the summer and you know what that means… It’s concert season!
This summer, Wilco returns to Boston and Street Attack has teamed up with their concert promotion crew to help support the gig… and by returning to Boston, we really mean Lowell. The concert takes place at the minor league baseball stadium, LeLacheur Park.
Using our nodes of influence, we’ve been reconnecting with local retailers to get them on board with concert promotions. You may have even spotted our street teams at a few other popular music events promoting the show with promotional materials and our bio projection bus.
Two special additions to the Wilco campaign this year are the chalk drawing contest and the relationship with the Mass Farmers Market. Both add-ons reward fans with free tickets to the show. The farmers market sponsorship even came with a custom Wilco Tote.

Tickets have been priced moderately at $36 (pre-sale). Nothing a day of pan-handling can’t fund.
Late yesterday evening our Bio Bus departed on what is sure to be a great adventure as it barrels down to Austin, non-stop, for this year’s SXSW music conference.
With little time to spare, we branded the bus in a minimalistic fashion, to represent our yearly publication, CHOICE, who is a proud sponsor of the Sidehatch Entertainment music showcase. This showcase will feature great up and coming acts, such as Lights Resolve, Kid:Nap:Kin, Endway, and The Everyday Visuals.

A special thanks to everybody that came by the Birdhead booth at Baked Fresh this past Sunday. We had a great time and were happy to make a ton of new friends. For those that weren’t aware this event happened (yes, it was tucked away on Harrison Ave in South Boston), Baked Fresh featured products from over 120 local artists, crafters and entrepreneurs…anything and everything including custom tees, vintage garb, silk-screened prints, photography, hand crafted jewelry and more.
We also had our Bio Bus set up as an experiential lounge for those that wanted to take a few moments to get off of their feet. For some people, a few moments turned into 30+ minutes. We’re happy to provide a pop-up lounge where ever desired.

We’re proud to announce the use of our fabulous green-fuel burning bus in the upcoming video for Island/Def Jam recording artists, Damone (www.myspace.com/damone).
Damone, the Boston-based foursome, is best known for their brand of 80’s glam metal packed full of new millennium attitude. The song featured in the video lived up to everything we’ve heard from them in the past. The lead vocal line (sung by bass player Vazquez) un-modestly repeated, “everybody wants to be me”. These pictures really sum that up, at least from a male perspective.
We apologize for having all these girls in the way of the beautiful interior of the bus. Please try to look around them to see the elegance of the Street Attack bio bus experiential environment. This whole shoot was one great example of the ‘experiential’ nature of the bus in action.
This past weekend, we brought our bio-bus down to New London, CT, for their annual I Am Festival (myspace.com/iamfestival). We were joined in full force by Birdhead Design and Mess With Texas for our booth set-up. The whole festival took place along the edge of the water and included a long pier as part of the vendor/stage set-up. We couldn’t have asked for a better spot, having our bio-bus and tent right at the beginning of the pier, next to the 2nd stage.
People really enjoyed seeing our bio-bus and reading about its capabilities to run on recycled vegetable oil. The headliners included Jay Reatard, Kidz in the Hall, Martha Wainwright, and Tiny Masters of Today. As night fell, we began a series of light projections directly behind the main stage.

Behind some of the light projections you’ll hear a few seconds of what sounds like some kids covering House of Pain’s, ‘jump around.’ That’s exactly what it is. This brother/sister combo from Brooklyn, known as, Tiny Masters of Today, shredded the stage. Apparently these two are 14 and 12 years of age. After a search on youtube we came across a number of their videos that had received over 100,000 views, including one directed by Karen-O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Hats off to these youngsters who will no doubt be huge one day.
