<p>If you haven&#8217;t heard it enough out of our mouths, the Beta blog, Shaping Youth, has broken down just why the Ashoka Youth Venture program has been such a huge success.</p>
<p><em>&#8220;&#8230;the pooled clout of Best Buy @15 with Ashoka Youth Ventures has the savvy leveraging of credible partner orgs with gear giveaways, contests, incentives and freebie factors that mesmerizes like a dangling cellphone charm.&#8221;</em></p>
<p>Although they do point out the corporate interjection of the whole venture (Best Buy being the main sponsor), they conclude that it&#8217;s much more about &#8220;making a difference&#8221; than &#8220;selling stuff.&#8221;</p>

We&#8217;ve created grassroots toolkits for the finalists to spread the word themselves. We also built an SMS voting functionality and WAP portal (www.yvteams.mobi) for the youth to reference. On top of all that, Street Attack is executing a traditional and digital PR push.</p>
